Dementia Caregiver Support Near Scottsdale: Hospice of the Valley Memory Café
Dementia Caregiver Support Near Scottsdale: Hospice of the Valley Memory Café
Finding a Caregiver support group can be incredibly valuable when you are caring for someone living with dementia.
But there is often one very practical question:
Who will stay with my loved one while I attend the support group?
Hospice of the Valley has created a unique solution through its Memory Café at the Dementia Care and Education Campus in Phoenix.
We recently added this valuable program to the I Need An Angel Community Events Calendar because we believe Scottsdale-area Families and Caregivers should know it exists.
Support for the Family Caregiver AND Their Loved One
What makes this program especially helpful is that it supports both people at the same time.
Care partners participate in educational and supportive conversations about the challenges of dementia caregiving.
Meanwhile, their loved ones living with dementia take part in safe, engaging experiences nearby with professional Caregivers specially trained in dementia care.
That means the Family Caregivers can focus on learning, connecting, asking questions, and receiving support while knowing their loved one is also being cared for and engaged.
We love this concept because one of the biggest barriers Family Caregivers face when seeking support is figuring out who will care for their loved one while they are gone.
The Memory Café helps remove that barrier.
What Happens at the Memory Café?
Care partners have an opportunity to participate in conversations, education, and support surrounding the challenges of dementia caregiving.
At the same time, people living with dementia can enjoy meaningful activities and experiences that may include:
- Art
- Music
- Stories
- Dancing
- Reading
- Reminiscing about favorite memories
- Pet therapy
- Other engaging activities
There is something for everyone, while both the Caregiver and the person living with dementia have an opportunity for connection.

Why Caregiver Support Matters
Caring for someone with dementia can bring questions and challenges that continually change as the disease progresses.
You may find yourself asking:
How should I respond when Mom asks the same question over and over?
What can I do when Dad becomes anxious or confused?
How can I keep my loved one active and engaged?
How do I balance safety with independence?
How do I take care of myself while also caring for someone I love?
There is tremendous value in having a place where Caregivers can learn, talk openly, share experiences, and connect with people who understand.
Sometimes the next helpful idea comes from a professional.
Sometimes it comes from another Caregiver who understands exactly what your day looks like.
And sometimes simply knowing that other Families are navigating similar challenges can make the journey feel a little less overwhelming.
Helping Scottsdale Families Find Caregiver Resources
At I Need An Angel, we have been helping Families navigate aging, caregiving, and Home Care for more than 20 years.
One of the things we have learned is that Families often need much more than Home Care.
They need information.
They need education.
They need trusted resources.
They need people to ask questions.
And sometimes they simply need someone to help point them in the right direction.
That is why we created the I Need An Angel, Inc Community Room and Community Events Calendar.
Our goal is to help connect Scottsdale-area Families, Caregivers, seniors, and healthcare professionals with useful classes, support groups, educational programs, dementia resources, and community events throughout Scottsdale and the surrounding Valley.

Do You Offer a Program That Supports Seniors or Caregivers?
We also welcome connections with local organizations and professionals who serve seniors, Caregivers, and Families.
Our I Need An Angel Community Room in Scottsdale may be available for educational programs, support groups, or community events that align with our mission.
If your organization provides a valuable resource for seniors or Caregivers, we would love to learn more and explore whether we can help share your program, add it to our Community Events Calendar, or potentially host an event in our Community Room.
When Your Family Needs Additional Support at Home
Sometimes education and community resources are exactly what a Family needs.
Other times, additional help at home can make all the difference.
I Need An Angel provides award-winning Home Care ranging from a little companionship or assistance to 24/7 support.
We help Families increase independence, reduce stress, navigate changing care needs, and find creative solutions that work for their individual circumstances.
If you are helping care for an aging parent or someone living with dementia and are not sure what kind of help would make life easier, we are always happy to be a resource.
Sometimes the right information, the right person, or the right resource at the right time can change everything.
Please share this Memory Café information with a Family or Caregiver who may benefit from knowing it exists.
